Objective: The learner needs to understand the value of LinkedIn as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) through taking three online lessons.

Problem

A consulting firm wants to grow their social media presence.  The firm has a number of subject-matter experts, who they want to engage and grow their network on LinkedIn. 

Solution

Motivate learners to use LinkedIn more, and understand the value of LinkedIn which would result in an increase in their digital footprint and growth in their personal branding, which would also benefit the consulting firm’s branding.

Research & Planning

Needs analysis and learner performance analysis through user interviews (SMEs).  This analysis helped us form the strategic direction of the instruction required to motivate the learner to achieve the goal of the principal stakeholder.

This project was created in conjunction with myself and two classmates.  I am solely responsible for the content included in Lesson 2: Engaging on LinkedIn, Course Overview and Introduction.  I was heavily involved in the overall design and workflow of the website.

Daphne's Reflection

I have always been passionate about the user and their experience in either a learning or client business to business transaction context.

I included this IMU in my digital portfolio to highlight my ability to create multimedia course content and perform web design; additionally, I want to highlight my ability to engage with key stakeholders and learners - gathering the requirements and motivation to develop the strategy and deliver on the clients request.

Engaging with the SMEs to understand their blockers and lack of motivation while understanding the principal stakeholders requirement takes analysis - asking the right questions through brainstorming, and following up with prototypes (ie, wireframe, mockup) are critical steps to take when developing an online course. Leveraging both my course studies and my extensive experience as a product manager, I was able to engage and create the strategy along with my group members for this online course successfully.
